Happy Valentine's Day!

Post by Yarbicus »

Sent my wife an email asking what she wanted to do this evening since we have sitting already lined. Her actual answer: "Guitar Center and Blue Moon Burgers."

i am proposing to Jenny tonight. cant wait. her dad was super excited, said he likes me a lot.

i was going to take her out on the lake but the stupid michigan weather is not cold enough. we have a spot by the water where we hang out a lot during the summer that will have to work instead.

I'm doing the usual wine and dine etc.

But I also got her this:

"Thanks so much for buying this gig. I love the message you have chosen! I went to the battery farm this afternoon and Henrietta is out of her cage :) I will take a photo of her with your message tomorrow morning and send it to you.

Luckily I was able to save another hen as someone else also purchased the gig today, so Henrietta has a friend. They were both very baffled by their new surroundings, but it didn't take them long to start dust bathing and scratching around in the dirt."

A day later...

"Introducing...Henrietta. Here is a photo of her taken this morning with your message. As you can see she has very long nails from all her time standing on wire in the battery cage, but I will clip those in the next couple of days (after she has had a chance to settle in).

She hasn't lost too many feathers thank goodness, although as you will see she has a bald head. This is probably where the other girls in the cage have pecked at her. Those feathers should grow back with time.

Henrietta is fascinated by the sky and she keeps looking up at it. I guess it must be pretty overwhelming if you've always had a cage and a roof above your head.

Thanks again for buying this gig and saving Henrietta."

I wish you all the luck and happiness in the world, bro. Awesome!!!  :gaybrostuff:

D had dark chocolate/raspberry ganache set out for me this morning, with coffee...I also noticed a Victoria's Secret bag on the dresser with a note that said "Don't peek!"....and she just called to let me know she left the office early to make me dinner. I saw a really good bottle of cabernet in the cabinet this morning too. :)

I'm lame this year. Stole her phone and recorded me playing the theme I wrote for our wedding (I'm scoring the whole thing and giving it to musicians to perform) on my classical guitar, and left her a card and some chocolate.

I paid a girl a few bucks to save a hen from a battery farm (where they live in tiny cages/can't move) to live on a preserve.

Battery farm:

You get to name the Hen, so I chose Henrietta.

:D

I'm dead lucky in that the wife thinks that Valentine's Day is a bunch of commercialised horseshit that's better off ignored.

As a total bonus, she never remembers our wedding anniversary either – we get reminded every year by our friends in CA (where we got married) who seem more keen to celebrate it than we do.

20 glorious years together and still going strong :thu:
