He's one of the only guitar players I watch and still get jealous over their feel. Fucking incredible, even if I am burned out on him.

I put Jimi just a notch above him. But yeah, I totally agree. His attack was brutal and his strings were huge. People underestimate what it takes to play like that on strings that size. Put him on a set of .10s' and he would snap them instantly.

Stevie was more refined and precise. Jimi was wild and untamed in a good way.

Stevie had Jimis' shoulders to ride on. As did everyone else.

That's exactly why he is the greatest.

But yeah, SRV was dead nuts accurate. Even without trying.

I hate his tone/ sound . I can not for the life of me understand why some are ate up with it.

Any Strat. Neck pick up. Any TS type OD. You're there.

That cheesey slide sound & the cheesey "the sky is crying" bend sound . Bleh.

Hendrix on his worst night > Anything SRV ever did.

SRV Little Wing =gag.

This. Whether you love him or not, there is no debating that the blues were on life support before he came around, and have seen a resurgence since his rise to fame.

He's not my favorite guitar hero, but that's the awesome thing about music, beauty is in the eye (or ears) of the beholder.

Yep. I'd rather stab myself in the ears than listen to that crap. Sounds like a screaming yak. In short, I'm glad he's dead :o

That guy was born to play guitar. I watch his DVD from Austin City Limits and it's like the riffs are not even coming from his fingers, the riffs are just flowing from inside him. SRV had feel like no other.
