Here's my attempt:

afxwinter - Feb 2013 Drumjam

This was really tough for me to mix since my left monitor is dead. I mixed in mono and then gave it a listen on my regular stereo.

Okay, I wanted to test my new bass so here's my entry; I kept it rather simple. I'm gonna listen to everyone else's submissions shortly

That THR10 is really smooth. I like your playing during the last half of the drumjam, you really nailed the odd timing.

I finally got to listen to all the efforts.
Fretless - The bass playing really stands out here, such a badass bass tone too. Really creative take on it.
Mikenothing - Great playing and tone, I think with bass and some mixing it would sound huge!
Anderton - One of my favorite tones out of the bunch... it sounds so ANGRY!!!
Loop's - I love the production on this one, great separation, nice and spacey.
Sex /w Robots - Shit man... SO GOOD. I really liked where you were going with it, just a shame it's so short :)
Endtime - Both of your clips sounded great, hard to choose which one sounds best so I'd say they're equally awesome.
Raf - Badass as always! Playing really stands out here. Love the tone and the jazzy solo too!
Devin - OMG DAT BASS TOANE!!!! So jelly! :)

It was cool how you added the pauses in the drum jam then added that low-fi vibe. It made for some great contrasts which really makes your riffs jump out. Some of the later riffs had kind of an early 70s Sabbath boogie feel. Like what they did with Electric Funeral and/or Fairies Wear Boots.

Good stuff!

Agreed.

On that note, I think GAB should release a 6-8 song EP. We could do it for a good cause, or something. I'd be down to produce it.

Ideas?

Any chance of making the collab ep a single 15-20 minute song with 2-3 minutes per forumite with a common theme instead of separate songs?

This EP idea: Will you be accepting shitty music from hacks as well? If so, I'd be down to toss one in.

That sounded way dirtier than intended.

Glad we have some interest!!!!

I thought about it a bit...and here's what I think I'm looking for:

1. Original Track (obviously). Any style is fine, as long as you wrote it.
2. Let's keep it instrumental (no vocals) for the time being. If you're contributing something that has a vocal part in mind, that's fine. Basically, if I get say, 8 songs that could benefit from a vocalist, we may end up doing a release with vocals as well, but will coordinate that after the initial submissions.
3. Make your tune as complete as possible. Make it a song, not a clip. If you play bass, play bass on it. If not, no pressure. Just make it as "complete" as possible.
4. If you don't program drums, PM me or Killzone (provided he's ok with it), and tell us what you're looking for (Tempo, Time Signature, style, length, etc), and maybe we can help.
5. When done, create a soundcloud set with your stems (individual tracks), make it downloadable (and private, if you want), and send me the link so I can download them and mix them. I think it makes sense for all of the tracks to be mixed by one person. If someone else wants to do it, that's cool too, so long as one person does them all.
6. When the project is done, I'll create a bandcamp page for it, do the artwork, and make available for free download, with a $$ contribution option. In the unlikely event that this makes any money at all, we'll split it, or find a good cause to donate it to. (GAB/Billy comes to mind.)

Sound good?

I love this idea too... And I could do it.....IF the stems included dry tracks from everyone.
