New In Flames vs the new Cannibal Corpse

Post by Killzone »

Well my vote is Cannibal Corpse > In Flames.......Cannibal has never sold out and keep bringing it.

I loved In flames up until their last few albums, they have sold out to much for me. Sucks that Jesper being gone, I would rather follow his Death/Thrash band Dimension Zero.

New In Flames bums me out, I used to be the biggest fanboy of them, and they really shaped my playing a lot when I was younger. Anders vocals seem to get closer to adult contemporary lite rock each album lol.

Cannibal corpse sounds like cannibal corpse as always, but that's not a bad thing  :rawk:

Man CC is one of my "go to's" when I am exercising. Whether it's cardio or lifting, when "Make Them Suffer, I Will Kill You, Pounded Into Dust or Devoured By Vermin" comes on it's a total energy boost. That or some damn Vader and I'm good to go!

Corpse just never progress at all, it sounds literally like a track they wrote in 1992. I know bands like Slayer kind of have that same thing going, but idk Im going to go with 'N Flames because while I don't agree with the direction they went in, at least they tried to push some sort of barrier here and the last few albums. I don't get it, it sounds like shit pop to me at times.

Haven't progressed at all? They upgraded to a much better vocalist in '96, stepped their production game up, have songs that vary from super technical to total groove monsters, etc. Yeah, totally haven't progressed at all!

I will say that Mazurkiewicz's drumming style hasn't changed much, so I will give you that.

That new In Flames is so bad it makes it hard to listen to their old stuff knowing how bad they will eventually become.

New CC is great as always.

I accidentally stumbled upon In Flames via Pandora and have only listened to "sounds of the playground fading". Knowing nothing of their previous stuff, I probably should do myself a favor, huh?

I'm wondering how much different Skeletal Domain will sound, without Erik Rutan. I hope there's still some ridiculous over the top tones, that aren't all polished up.

I just can't get into CC since Barnes left. I just don't like the vocals. As far as In Flames...well...after Clayman, it just wasn't the same for me.

I choose CC because I can't stand Anders' voice. I used to really like In Flames from lunar strain to colony. Even clayman wasn't too bad, but ever since Anders' decided to change his vocal style drastically, I can't listen to them. Too bad Mikael Stanne wasn't still with them.
