Metallica Classic IRs

Post by NinjaRaf »

I grabbed these that madrigal77 posted and recorded this shit with them. They are shockingly accurate haha. Pair them with the Mark VII, and they seem damn close to me! Really fucking fun to fuck with these. Thing is the Puppets IR, Harvester is the...you guessed it...Harvester IR lol...and God is the Black IR. I just did these songs because I already had the drum tracks and projects from recording them before, so not too much time invested in this, either.

Killer playing dude. Yeah these are nuts. The Justice one even has that weird no mids compression thing going on. They were posted in the Fractal forums and pretty much ignored. I tried them and was like WTF why aren’t you all going crazy for these, they are AMAZING! If you’re chasing Metallica tones, these are the answer.
Guitars:
ESP MX-2 White
ESP Eclipse II Vintage Black
LTD EC-1000T CTM Violet Shadow
Ibanez Acoustic: V300CW
Amps:
Fractal FM3 MKII Turbo

lol

I think I could make a couple of these work for the sounds I want. The black album one is really good. The Load ones are also really good. Some of these are the sounds that got me into guitar playing. And while I love the Justice and Puppets tones, I don't know if that's what I want my own music to sound like...so at least for me that's why I'm still fucking with speakers. But who knows. Maybe I will try some of these on some of my own songs in the next couple of days.

Well, the only other amp I have right now is the Peters. I guess I have a 6505+ 112 combo, too, but it has shit piled on top of it in a closet.

But...my Syn-1 and Uberschall module should be here today. Will be a good chance to run that through these hopefully later today.

Also those settings on the Mesa are my typical settings. Not trying to find Metallica settings or whatever.

Ya that’s the sound! What loadbox so you use to take the Mesa direct?

It has a built in cab clone, so no external load box necessary.
