NPD - another Vibe

Post by rock flag and eagle »

Still on my search for the perfect vibe, I currently own a Deja Vibe (sounds too subtle), JHS Unicorn ( the warble isn't like a Univibe) and just sold off an Electrovibe DIY build, it sounded much like the Unicorn.
I bought this DLS Versa Vibe because even though there wasn't really many demos, I thought the Johnny Hiland demo sounded pretty good.
You can definitely tune it in more than any of my other vibes, I was able to dial in some pretty Hendrixy stuff with it but it's still lacking something. Out of everything I have, I seem to gravitate to the JHS, but this isn't a bad pedal at all. I just need to spend more time with it too, try it with fuzz and different amps/
I really should have just bought a MJM 60's Vibe, from demos I've heard, it sounds most like what I want a vibe to sound like. I just didn't want to pay the higher price of it but I've spent way more buying every other vibe, so I should have just went with my gut from the beginning.

Skip to the front of the line and buy a Aquavibe. I don't even look at other vibe pedals anymore. It's perfect.

 with what I've spent on vibes I could have bought an Aquavibe and had enough left over to buy another OD

I've been through some vibes. The thing the Aquavibe has that none of the others did is this.... It never ever gets in the way of your sound. The low end never comes sweeping through your pick attack like all of the others I had. It just sits real pretty and perfect in your tone. In that way it is comparable to a pedal like the Skreddy Echo. It's more than enough, but never too much.

I do agree about the Aquavibe. It's the best I've tried so far.

Too bad you're not digging it, I've heard good things about DLS. So many vibes out there though. I was digging my Dawner Prince Viberator until I made the switch to harmonic trem hah. :idk:

It's not a bad sounding pedal and playing with it more, I'm finding some tones I like but i think I still prefer the JHS Unicorn out of everything I've tried so far.
I've also been trying all my vibes in different real amps and different POD Go amps. I'm finding that some vibes sound better through certain amps than others.
I do want to try DLS Rotary pedal, I thought the demos of that sounded pretty damn good.

I did buy this exact model, but didn't get much time under my belt with it before sending it to Ryan to check out. That said, I liked what I heard of it. Now what I did get recently was the next iteration of the pedal, the DLS Versa Vibe II. It appears to be on their website now, but it wasn't when I bought it. I had noticed back in October it was unavailable and inquired, that is when Dave from DLS informed me this was in the works. I have several DLS Effects and the newest Versa Vibe is a well designed effect, like his others.

Definitely play around with the Versa Vibe, there's some good in there. If you need any insight reach out to Dave with DLS and he will give some.

Yeah I was able to get some pretty good tones out of it the more I played around with it, especially once I started using it with another amp/ speaker combo.

Love just noodling around with vibes.

Currently have a JAM RetroVibe V2. Think I may prefer the original a little bit, but then again I was playing a couple hours a day while I owned that and maybe a couple hours a month with the V2.

Had the Aquavibe for a minute and adored it as well.

I’m just glad there are attainable vibes now that sound killer without breaking the bank.
