1972 JMP 50 watter. 100% original down to 2 prong cord. Looks great, just some wear to the numbers and letters on faceplate. Possible NAD later.......

That was a transition year to PCB iirc. Big price difference between the two. No performance or tone differences but value fo sho.

They switched in late 73. Either way this one is turret board. I've seen the gut shots. I will have to switch the electrolytics for sure as they are original as well.

If the amp sounds good you don't have to change anything just because of age. Caps can last a long time if the amp was used regularly. It's when they sit unused for a long time that caps dry up.

This is true. I know that George Metropoulos still has the original filter caps in his 68 and is very hesitant to change them. If they start getting noisy he’ll run the amp for a few hours to let the caps reform.

If you want to hear him talk about to before he does some alligator clips to get to EVH spec (minus the mid pot) you can see it here.
