I’d always heard it was Phil blaming dimebag for pantera breaking up.

But yeah, it’s a tribute and should be billed as such. Still, I want to see this set live. It’s the closest I’m going to get.

Definitely agree about Marzi! It's probably easier to sell the package with a guitar player that's been with Ozzy etc, but for the sound, he would've been a more logical choice.

Agreed completely! When they busted out Domination and Primal Concrete Sledge with Marzi nailing every lead, I thought “this could be the guy!” But names sell tickets so…

Well, today was the day my wife and I surprised our son with the Metallica tickets for his birthday.

Did. Not. Go. As. Planned.

We gave him 4 Metallica t-shirts. Then I asked "which one do you want to wear when we go see Metallica live in November?"

Him: "Well Ride the Lightning shirt obviously. Wait, huh?"

Me: "Yeah, we got you tickets to see them live!"

Him: "Really? Huh........"

Me: "Don't you want to see them live?"

Him: "Not really...it won't be the same..."

So he's in the same camp as you guys lol. Guess I completely misread my son's level of interest. I'm fucking done for the day.

The irony is I didn't project anything music/gear/band related on him (mostly). I suggested him trying guitar a few years ago and he didn't have much interest, so I didn't push it. But last year he came up to me wanting to learn, and it organically grew on its own. If anything he has nudged me into playing Metallica songs with him.

Edit: damn dude; kick a guy when he's down...

Sorry man, that was rude. I was trying to hate on Metallica, not you and your son. Maybe he was having an off moment and will come around on the tickets.
