NGD - came with a law degree

Post by spawnofthesith »

Took a lil road trip down to Colorado Springs today to scoop up this ‘00 core 10 top custom 22

Got a prettyy good price on it and it’s in amazing shape for. 23 year old guitar. Had two dings in it but I’ll have put that many on it myself within a couple weeks. Plays and sounds amazing  like holy shit.

I just saw you this on the PRS group on Facebook and was gonna say “why isn’t this on GGF yet?” And here it is. Awesome score man!

Gorgeous. While we’re on the subject of the bird inlays, I’m seriously considering my Made To Measure multiscale Custom 24 to be an all-mother-of-toilet-seat affair, with the words “EXTRA CRISPY” inlaid on the fingerboard. My favorite bird, y’know?

Thanks guys!!! I’m happy I have dots/moons on my PRSi, but I’m not gonna lie I’ve come around on the birds lol

I read so many polarizing reviews of the dragon IIs but I seriously love them. Seriously fucking brutal sounding if you want and gorgeous cleans too. I’m actually a bit surprised how much I like them, I think they might sound better than the Pegasus in my Lp for high gain stuff

The problem I see that you have with PRS is that they multiply… if you like the basic template there’s so many flavours to try… 22, 24, custom, standard, CE, stoptail, trem, hollow, semi-hollow, offset, etc.

The intonation makes them absolutely amazing with high gain. I avoided them for a long time because of the nu-metal thing, but once I tried one I understood.

I’m a Les Paul guy, but I see my McCarty as a Super-Les Paul. It (as well as that CU-22) can do things the LP can’t (and vice versa).
If you can't play good, play loud.

Bro. You need a bigger couch!

Love the simplicity of the wrap tail, master volume, master tone. Killer axe man, and the collection is getting to be top notch!

Congrats, I like that color a lot. Those wrap around bridges are really comfortable, my Mira's have them.

Haha yeah, I only made it a month of owning my S2 vela before I needed more. One day I'd love a core hollowbody II but the prives are prohibitive for me. Didn't think I'd be owning any cores for that matter but I got a pretty great deal on this guy

It's funny, PRS seems to be the guitar of choice for buttrock, jam bands, prog metal, and P&W. Bizarre cross section there

It has a somewhat similar vibe to my LP, but definitely completely distinct in feel/sound/etc. I'm glad to have both :D

Haha yeah gonna need a sectional. That couch sucks anyway

I keep telling myself I'm gonna pump the brakes but it hasn't seemed to happen yet lol

So I brought the custom to a partial band practice tonight (ie no bass and me and my drummer fucking up a lot of beers and bowls) and that’s where my roadster is at (so far just been playing thru JVM mostly and dabbling on Engl and deluxe)

So the first hour… panic/stress/regret.. wtf Maybe these dragon IIs actually aren’t all that… maybe my roadster just doesn’t get along with more than one of my guitars… maybe PRS actually aren’t all that…

These are the thoughts going through my head. My drummer even, who had been geeking out over the looks to the point of sending a photo shoot to his dad after a certain point was like …. “I hate to say this but I’m not sure about the tone…”

Well I can be a bit oblivious at times, and when I throw my pedalboard in the bag knobs change sometimes and I don’t even think of it. Turns out my compressor settings (which is an always on pedal) were all kinds of fucked up. Once I realized reset… god damn. This goiter sounds amazing. Like seriously. I know I’m still in honeymoon phase and I feel a bit like a traitor saying this… but it has potential to have dethroned my LP as number one…. (While still being a completely unique instrument)

Anyway /csb and I’m sometimes a dumbass and this thing fucks hard
