Long ass Read…

But if you are a nerd like me about shit like this, it’s pretty interesting. I admit I didn’t even read the beginning as it was too boring but eventually it caught my interest and read the rest.

Basically Larry DiMarzio’s telling his life story. Some interesting connections

Just finished reading it. Very interesting story. Some people have a negative view of him because of his trademark etc but I don't have a problem with that. He pretty much invented the aftermarket pickup business. I like a lot of DiMarzio pickups, definitely a big part of the music I grew up with.
Guitars:
'78 Les Paul Pro / '89 SG Special/ '04 Gibson Les Paul Classic 3 pickup / Jackson Star/ Endres Tele / Fernandes Rhoads/ ''74 Hohner MIJ strat/ 2 Partscasters

Amps:
Depends on when you ask. I got tired of constantly updating this section lol

Cabs
Marshall 1960A w V30s/ Seismic 2x12 w Redback and V30.

Yeah, seeing as to why he wanted the trademark, or at least how he explains it now. Lol.. who knows, maybe he is just being a dick and just tried to explain it away! Haha. But taking him at his word, then the cream was sorta the Dimarzio branding “look” at the time. And there were definitely a lot of cream pickup Super Ds back in the 70s and 80s. Even all those old metal dudes, like Slayer for instance all had cream Super Ds. It does feel like NOW that patent isn’t quite necessary. But … I mean. Sometimes ones gotta be a shrewd business man…
