That’s a beauty of a mic! Hoping it sounds awesome and great way to round out your mic collection.

Fantastic. That should complete any serious mic locker. You should start a mic locker thread. You can never have to many mics. Congrats and lets hear that bad boy.

Nice. Looking it up it appears to be a very warm but accurate mic.. Those are good for putting straight on the center of a speaker.. No fucking around, just dead center.. Fucking done.. And it should still sound good.. I use my akg414 like that.. Basically straight on.. I found some old recordings recently where I ONLY used the 414 on my cab and it does lack some of that grit and "scrape" of the dynamics, but it was bright enough and sat in the mix great and had that BIGness that a mic like that is good at.. I always find myself mixing 2 mics with a Large Diaphram but there is no reason not to just use that as the sole mic.. It gives a different vibe for sure.. And according to what I think iv e read.. Some of the best tone of Rockn Roll, Back IN black, was just a Neumann on the cab.. No dynamic mics.. it was either th u67 or u87.. But I'm pretty sure it was just the LDC.. Point being.. Throw that on your cab alone and see what happens! lol

yup, first thing i did with my first test today was move it right to the center cause its so smooth and big sounding, definitely sounds more "natural" than any other mic i have for sure, im thinking it will blend perfect with my unidyne 57 that is just too bright and peaky on its own for my tastes usually. it was that jimmy page video where he has a u87 on everything that pushed me over the edge, i was gonna get a 87 but this seemed comparable and i like being different so fuck it lol.
Remind me to never lend you a microphone that I care about.
