I decided I wanted to get a new interface with more inputs and especially MIDi In/Out since I record an e-kit here and with my current interface (UA Apollo Solo) I had to connect the e-kit to the computer via USB and it's not as solid as I'd like. Not to mention that the UI of the Apollo is annoying, it's just one big knob for all input/output level controls and you need to maunally select which function you want to control. I also don't like the inputs being in the back, it doesn't work for my desk layout here.
I have a love/hate relationship with UA, I love the sound but sometimes their Windows drivers are quirky. But still, I decided to stick with UA and bought the Volt 476P.
I like the layout and features and Sweetwater is giving a bunch of UA plug-ins with it so it was a non-brainer. It should be here on Monday.

Following up on the massive interest this thread generated I got the Volt and I love it. Much easier to use and the Windows driver is rock solid. Very happy with it.

I was interested in these new USB UA interfaces but I read that they don't have the internal DSP to run the native UA plugins like the higher end units - is that true?
Regardless they look cool as fuck

It's true, they don't. I didn't care for that feature on my Apollo unit though. To run the plug-ins with the interface DSP I had to load them in the UA console then patch the console into the DAW.
I like to have all my plug-ins loaded directly into the DAW so I can see them all without having to toggle between programs. And when you load the UA plug-in directly to the DAW, you're using the computer processor again. So it's not for me.
Maybe the really high-end UA units have a better work flow but the Apollo Solo was cumbersome.

Awesome! Looks like a good sized interface with great feature set. Glad to hear the windows driver is rock solid as this may be an interface i consider once I move to upgrade my Focusrite I818 1st Gen ( still working fine for time being).
