Audio Editing Guys- Can I get some help here?

Hey guys, so I'm trying to get a line from a movie for a piece of music that I'm working on. However, I need to have only the voice and not any of the background music. I tried editing out the music with Melodyne (polyphonic pitch editor), but frequencies of the voice were mixed in with it so it really messed up the sound. I do have the isolated soundtrack of the music for that scene, so is there any way I can somehow use that as a negative to cancel out the music in the audio? Is that even possible? or should I take another route?
Thanks.
Edit: not sure what subforum to put this in, so move if necissary. I'll just drop it here.

Phase reverse the isolated soundtrack, combine with the full track, and you should be left with just the voice.

Phase inversion failed. Is there any other method?

The only other thing I can think of is trying to eq it out, but that doesn't seem too promising. I can't just leave the music in the clip, theres too much of it and it would be pretty overbearing.

Did you try to flip the phase on the whole thing or do you actually have a separate file of just the music, like from the soundtrack? If you line the music up perfectly and flip the phase on that track, that should work fine.
