Koa V with Invader clips...plus shenanigans

Well, maybe not quite shenanigans, but Eric had me remove the volume control from the circuit and it seems to have addressed the issues I have had with the attack on this guitar.

I had some Dimarzio Dominions in this guitar, and while they are tight, I was super digging the rest of their sound. I bought this Invader from Eric a couple months ago. Figured I would give it a try, and while it sounded great, the attack was just lacking. But most pickups I've tried in this guitar have had a similar problem. So he recommended doing what Karl from Nile does...remove the volume control from the circuit...and I'll be damned!! Immediately noticed a difference! The attack issues are largely resolved. Maybe the Invader is the right choice, maybe not. I am sure I will try a few, but for the moment, I am the happiest with the way this guitar responds that I've been in the 4-ish years that I've had it.

I keep trying to roll the volume down, but nothing happens lol. So he told me about these no load pots. Ordered a couple of those, so we will see how that affects things when they arrive.

EVH 100S, Mesa OS 412, SM57 on a V30, PR30 on a Redback. I am really digging how this pickup sounds in this guitar. But now I will probably have to find a neck version to match lolol.

Honestly both sound really good. I do hear the higher frequencies and extra cut and attack on the "after" clip and it's really cool.
But the first clip is great too. I don't know if I can say one is better than the other.

I'm not hearing a huge difference, but if I had to pick one it would be the no volume clip.
