This pickup is so ridiculous, I hd to try it again and see if I can actually make it work in my rig. The only amp that has a chance is the Evh 5153 el34 100 because it just slams the front end of my PVs to where there is no more headroom and it start garbling up the attack and front end of notes..... Need either like an old Marshall or a head that has the headroom.. The EVh does.. But it still turns the blu channel into the Red channel amount of gain.. Lol.. It also has the "Cawk Cawk" haha sound on chugs. I remember plying it thru the Badlander at work and the Mesas really liked this pickup.. The EVH wasnt my thing initially.. But before I sell it, I have to try again.. Cause there is sumthin about this pickup that clearly nothing else does.. ITs Super thick and smooth And maybe for live use, to just command such a big sound, it might be a worthy tool for the job.... I should also add, this has a Jumper on the back of the pickup that when removed actually LOWERS the gain a few cunt hairs.. Which I have it removed. Its still the loudest, most output pickup on the planet.. But with it in, I honestly don't know what amps they were testing it on cause its so over the top
It also sustains for eternity and solo'ing on it is actually maybe its best attribute with my amps.. But here is a track I did the rhythms with it.. The solos I did a little while ago.. Think it may have been the xxx. And not this pickup..
So EVH el34 100 watt. Blu channel straight in.. Micing an EVH spkr with a Beyerdynamic t201.. https://app.box.com/s/4cc4fmpnpu6s8jp967ujzxtf0sxos4fa

Sounds cool. Recording quality aside (yours is better) this tone reminds of Jeff Waters tone on the old Annihilator albums. Like:
Which is awesome because that's one of my favorite metal bands/tone.

Soon as you mentioned it, I could hear that Annihilator tone! Definitely same ballpark. I like it and at times I think it sounds crushing and other times it’s SO one sided with that cocked wah thing, it’s hard for me to look past. But I think the recording is pretty cool and it’s got that big thick crunch coming thru which is what that pickup is all about. I have a show Saturday, I think I’ll use it and see if it works well live.

That’s a great song too. I wonder if I can tame the Evh down a tad and get this. Think that’s gonna be a Marshall thing but maybe I can find that smoothness. Cause Waters is a little more smooth, less low end and less gain. But I’m gonna see what I can scrape together

damn that would be awesome!!! Yeah the old records were Marshalls with the SD1. But maybe the EVH could do it. That would be an interesting experiment.
