Bjorn Gelotte is criminally underrated

Listening to the new In Flames record made me go back and revisit a lot of their catalog. Jester Race, Whoracle, Colony, Clayman, and quite a few of the newer ones like A Sense of Purpose and I, the Mask.

Totally understand why people who love the older stuff can’t stand the newer stuff, but Gelotte sounds killer every time the dude decides to riff out. Whether the song itself is shit or not, his riffs usually kick ass. He doesn’t get enough praise, IMO.

I listed Bjorn along with Matt Pike as my biggest role models in my HS year book

He did Coffee with Ola and dude came across cool as hell. Seems like he’d be cool as hell to hang around with.

Bjorn rules! Love that guy’s playing. Saw In Flames live a few times and they always delivered.

His riffs are always epic, even if the song is shitty.

Drenched in Fear is a supremely badass riff.
