I'm finally going to do it

I'm gonna get a guitar amp plug-in. I haven't recorded anything on a computer in probably three years. Maybe more. I was using my 2008 iMac and GarageBand with a Presonus Firebox. I never updated my OS. Once it got too old to even connect to the internet I basically turned it off and haven't turned it on sine.

Lots has changed since then. So I'm at the point where I want to record riffs/song drafts to give to a couple of drummer friends so they can work out drum parts on their own before we get together.

I can use my roommates MacBook Pro that is a few years old. It has GarageBand that I'll use as my DAW, but it looks way different than my 2008 GB. I am computer/ technology retar........um, challenged to put it mild. I'm also on a budget. Selling some stuff to fund this. But still would like to keep costs down.

So I have my Roommates MacBook Pro and my old Audio Technica headphones.

I'm thinking the UA Volt 1 as my interface.
I want to get the Neural DSP Fortin Faceless plug-in. That's it. That Mashall type tone is where it's at for me. I don't want option paralysis.

I'll need to get some drum software with a good amount/ variety of loops to cut and paste. I don't want to program my own drums. Just need a beat to slap in there.

I guess I'll have to do the iLok thing.

Any recommendations? Is installing all this stuff easy? I mean like easy for the average 70 year old man?

Ez drummer 3 assuming the machine can run it. Its bad ass for quick drum tracks
