My daughter is wanting to get a mic to record vocals. What are some decent vocal recording mics that aren't priced too high?

You can get away with a regular shure sm58 or 57. And it’ll be ok. . But If it’s anything you think may be serious or ongoing for her, just get the sm7b. Can get pro level recordings with that. But yeah it’s $400. Not expensive but not cheap

I came to suggest the exact same thing.
Pretty sure Anthony Kiedis uses an SM58 to record vocals in the studio.
The SM7B works for me. Better sounding for my voice than any condensor I've ever used. Plus, it will work well on guitar, bass, drums, podcasting, etc.
SM7 (before the "B" model came out) was good enough for Michael Jackson.
A cheap, bad vocal condensor will sound VERY BAD.
a good dynamic (sm57/78) will be good enough.
a great dynamic that's made for vocals (SM7B) will be pro level.
