Driving to work; turn on Liquid Metal. Which has apparently turned into Metallica radio in anticipation of the Blacklist thing. Which is where we take an album I loathed decades ago then have artists I give negative #$%^s about do covers of said songs. I was always wondering what Sad But True would sound like if covered by the Weekend.

Hammett's the only one left that I still have a modicum of respect for. During some kind of monster when Jahhmzzah and Larz are screaming at each other and Hammett's just sitting there going, "Guies? Common guise? Guise?"

You have to think he wonders every day if the millions are worth it.

Saw an interview the other day with James where he was spouting shit about Corey Taylor because, "You never know what band he's in. The second you have another band, I've lost respect for you. Loyalty matters."

That's such a shit attitude for anybody, but from him it just feels like he's still taking shots at Jason. He seems to seriously believe that having more than one band means you have to break up with one band to join the other. Bands take breaks. Some dudes don't want to take a break so they go do some other shit instead. I can't wrap my head around how that's disloyal when they spring right back the second the band's ready to roll again.

I wish I could say that. I basically lived, breathed, slept and ate Metallica during my guitar initiation. Most of the time I'm pretty meh about the whole thing, but there was a time . . . .

All of this. Ugh. I know it's a waste of complaining energy by now but from time to time; you get a reminder of how awesome they were and in the same breath how terrible they are comparatively right now.
