I have Waves 30 band Graphic EQ that comes with a spectrum analyzer. Got it on sale a few years ago.
It pretty cool... it helps to identify peaks that may need taming.

I just use EQ plugs these days for any analysis. And there is one head and shoulders above the rest, FabFilter ProQ. It has matching capabilities and some of the best, imo. It’ll automatically highlight spikey frequencies that are adding up over the entire track and not just a peak here or there, so they are easily identified and tamed. Can make any band a Dynamic EQ . Perfect for heavy guitars and the “chug zone” that can be a little too much when double/quad tracked.... For function and use, it doesn’t get any better for me.

I need to grab this for sure. Seems everyone that uses it, loves it.

Again for Functionality that one would actually USE and want, and it’s ease at doing it, I would have never guessed such a great plug in existed had I never used it..

Nice! ProQ does look like a very cool and helpful plugin.

OK... I think this is pretty damn cool... wonder how it works on heavy music. I'd think the principal should be the same... starts at the 4:40 mark

I'm a big fan of the SIR spectrum analyzer and ReEQ. They're both free, I think Reeq is based on the fabfilter stuff as well.

I recently got and tried a free plugin called TDR Nova which is only 4 bands of eq2 with spectrum analyser and does dynamic eq (specific frequency band range compression). It seems like this could come in handy in some instances especially after i play around with it some.
