Amped. I hear this may be going down. Experienced the show in 1988 with 30K fans watching Van Halen, Scorpions, Metallica, Dokken, and many others. Our City opened up a Football Stadium to 30K plus patrons and the City wants to do it again. Hope it happens!!! I hope Liliac gets an open billing instead of Kingdom Come.

I would think that Van Halen and Dokken are out. Mick Brown is retired. Maybe you could get Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Green Day, Korn, Foo Fighters, Alice in Chains or the Smashing Pumpkins. For old time's sake, maybe instead of Kingdom Come, you get Greta Van Fleet. I would think finding an insurance company to underwrite it right now, would be near impossible.

That lineup was killer.
Why was Kingdom Come on the bill? No one else was stupid enough to follow Metallica.

Kingdom Come opened, the Dokken, then, I think Metallica, then Scorpions, (I may have them reversed), and finally Van Halen - so yes, either Scorpions or Van Halen followed Metallica......
But yes, Metallica killed it at the Tampa show I was at. Bass solo was stadium-level feedback awesome. Scorpions were album-perfect, And Van Halen had so many great tunes to choose from.

LA Coliseum show was killer. Order bands went on:
- Kingdom Clone
- Metallica
- Dokken
- Scorpions
- Van Halen
The show was postponed a day because Sammy Hagar was sick.
Opening band sucked. Metallica tore the place (literally) apart when hundreds or thousands of people in the bleachers rushed the field during Creeping Death, leaving the whole stadium as general seating after the call to pull security. Dokken was a band that was obviously imploding. Scorps has the best sound of the day. Full stadium food fight kept everyone busy before Van Halen went on.

Their single Get It On was on the charts at the time and they were probably willing to do the tour for merch sales alone. They probably lost money when they paid the record company back for the tour bus.
I saw M.O.R. in Miami. You could tell there were tensions between Don Dokken and George Lynch on stage, mostly coming from Lynch (I was about 15 feet from Lynch). Metallica was amazing. Lars had his signature white with black Tama drum kit. Still my favorite drum kit of all time. The Scorpions were good, but their cheerleader formations started to look stupid after a while. Sammy Hagar had a serious case of LSD that day. Like 5 minutes of story after every song. Stfu already and play a song. I've seen Van Halen a lot of times, and this day was the worst. This was the loudest "Eddie" chant I ever heard. Like 75,000 people in unison chanting "Eddie" before VH went on.

Oh man, I love the shit out of that one Kingdom Come album with the speaker on it. That album had a very Zeppelin vibe to it and plenty of catchy tunes.
That being said though, I sure as hell wouldn't want to be that band opening before Metallica. Seriously would've been better off getting Power station to open
