Hi all,

I'm beginning to work towards a board upgrade to solve some issues with video embedding, images etc... the new format will be a Xenforo board, which is the same format now used by TGP, SSO, Rig-Talk and others so most people will be already familiar with the interface. All the posts/accounts/passwords will remain the same.

I don't have an exact date for the change yet, still working on the layout and details but it will be sometime next week and the board will be down for a few hours (or maybe a day) while everything gets sorted out. I will update this when I have more specific details.

It will not. It's just a different name (Trending Topics) but I think I can rename that to Active Topics to make it simpler.


Check out TGP, RT, MyLesPaul, Strat-Talk, SSO, TDPRI etc they're all running on Xenforo. It's a very nice and simple to use interface.

Rig talk's the only one I ever even glance at and it's "upgrade" literally removed every feature I actually cared about, so I may be pre-biased against this.

But, like I said, I'll just shrug and keep doing what I do.

well let's do this.. I will set up a poll and see where we land.

Likes (would be cool) and "easier" media posting. No skin off my back either way though.

I contacted them and told them I'd use it but only if Craig Anderton did the install, but they said that's not an option

I heard he still hasn't been able to remove the tire tracks from when you drove over him on HCAF.

yeah, dark mode is the only thing I care about, and since TGP has it, I guess I'm in.....

The only thing I think is missing from the forum is that whenever somebody posts a new "X" day, they should be required to put up a boob gif

Dude I actually thought about PMing you to ask if I could contribute to this while I was in MI because all the other forums I'm on use it and it's awesome, but figured this was your thing and if you wanted it changed you'd change it.

what phone? Android? Just click on "Desktop site" on your chrome options, or "Desktop" if using Firefox.
if it's iPhone, it's the same thing but it's called "Request Desktop Website" instead.

This works in 100% of smart phones unless there is an issue with your phone (doubt it) or user error (likely).

There are some things that are not working on the current forum (thus the upgrade), but that's not one of them.

Xenforo works pretty well - looking forward to the update.

As this is proprietary software I wonder how you will manage cost. Perhaps you could put a donate button on the new site and if everybody interested takes a small share you should be good - happy to contribute.

I have ads running on the forum that covers my operational costs, including the purchase of the Xenforo license so thankfully, donations won't be needed but I do appreciate the thought.

If you want to contribute financially to this forum, all I ask is you whitelist this website on your ad blocker, the ads are very non-invansive and that's enough to help me out.
