Reaper no output on saved tracks...worked b/4 but not now

So I'm trying to come out of the dark ages and use a DAW. I'm just getting my feet wet and decided to try Reaper because I don't want to invest a lot in this experiment yet. I installed it and tried it out and it's cool. Next I loaded the free speaker IR plug in someone posted the other day and got that working, recorded some trial tracks using them and that's good too. Next I wanted to try adding a drum track and downloaded a free plug in (MT-PowerDrumKit). I got that loaded and working, built a beat to use in a recording and saved it.

Here's the problem. When I'm done I shut down the computer. The next day I open Reaper and the project. It loads and I hit play. It's playing but there is no sound and nothing on the meters. Everything was good before I shutdown the PC. The sound card config is good. After I recorded my earlier tracks I saved them, closed them, reopened them and played them multiple times to make sure everything is working and it was all good but after shutting down the PC and restarting it all goes to shit. I've deleted Reaper and reinstalled it and went through the whole set up again, got it working, listened to tracks thought all was good shut it down and the next day the same shit happens.

At fist I had my shitty Lexicon Alpha interface plugged into a USB port on the back of the computer and it wasn't starting up with boot up of the PC. I had to unplug it and plug it back in again to get it to work. I've since moved it to a USB port on the front of the PC and that issue is resolved. Even though I had the audio device settings right and was using the ASIO driver I downloaded, installed & selected ASIOFORALL v2 hoping that would fix the problem but it didn't. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Everything works until shut it off and restart the next day. Something must be defaulting to an incorrect setting but it's not in the audio device settings. I even turned off all notification sounds because I read that they can cause conflicts and that did nothing. I checked the master track to make sure it wasn't muted and it's not....the meters would still be showing if that were the only issue anyway. I can't figure out what's wrong. Apparently the problem is within Reaper itself because I still have audio to my speakers through my interface when I listen to stuff on Youtube. That's the maddening thing, it's not an easy to resolve global problem. This all points to me missing something obvious because it's new to me and I don't know WTF I'm doing.
