Something I noticed about my Audient

Post by GuitarBilly »

It seems like my projects take considerably more CPU with the Audient. I opened some older projects I had recorded with the Steinberg interface yesterday and I noticed that the CPU was nearly maxed out when playing them through the Audient.
Decided to double check and plugged the Steinberg back in and sure enough, the CPU usage went down considerably.

Another thing is my Steinberg allows me to bring my buffer size down to 32 samples without any issues, while with the Audient I get cracks and pops below 96 (on a full project).

Has anyone noticed that about their Audient interface? Maybe it's something on my setting?

Have you changed the settings on the Audient mixer? You should be able to take it down to 44.1. As for CPU usage, I never noticed anything like that with mine.

I’ve noticed another weird thing with my audient, where if I have Reaper running it doesn’t want to play audio from another app. Even when I close Reaper it still doesn’t sound. I have to close the audient and sometimes restart. This is new and probably a setting that comes factory on the new version of Reaper.

Yeah, sometimes I had to cycle the power after recording at a higher sample rate than Windows Media Player.
