Hey everyone, been lurking for a while but took the plunge.
I'm 'between amps'. If I told you what amp I have right now, I might get banned immediately!

Ok, I had a Twin Reverb but sold all 65lbs of it. My back appreciates the loss, the ears not so much.

...it's a Rogue Stereo Chorus 40. All silicon. The clean channel is sweet, surprisingly - but the dirty side, oh, it is nasty with a capital Ugly.
A buddy of mine's been suggesting a Koch Studiotone XL...

Tbh, I haven't heard of either of them. Are you looking for something? What do you want it for, and what's your budget?

Yup - ideally, I'm looking for a small combo under a grand for jams. (blues, classic rock)

Could be worse - could be a Rouge Stereo Chorus 120; same sh*t, but louder!
I had a Peavey Backstage Plus as a kid that was worse than this Rogue actually...

Fender Deluxe Reverb 68 You can get one used, for $800

Or, a Boss Katana 50 watt combo - it's got enough bells and whistles to keep you busy for hours

The Boss Katana is one I hadn't considered, & at half the weight of the Fender, I'll check it out for sure - thanks!

I'll second this. Great amp for short money. Look for one with a Creamback in it and you're all set.

Yeah man, if budget is an issue, grab a Katana. They sound great and punch well above their price point.

This was a quick clip of my Katana 100 head with Crate 1x12. Cab has a Celestion K100 in it. Amp is rock for days.

I STRONGLY recommend the Quilter stuff as well if you already have some effects you like. They are amazing little amps and weigh in under 10lbs.

The Quilter Mach 2 looks like a strong contender, thanks.

I found a Kustom KGA 10FX that just went on sale, so I checked it out.
Pretty darn good for a 10W SS amp.

Fixed, and +1

Best advice - hold off another purchase for a few weeks until you've had a chance to get more info on various amps available (and loved by the forum - for good reason). Know your budget (and try to double it if you can).

...and just ignore Dave when he gets all agro. It's all good here :D

Blues Junior. Hands down the best amp for that money for what you want...

It is a beauty. Probably hard to go wrong there.
I've been borrowing amps, & that's one of the top contenders.

The Blues Jr. got a 9/10 for my purposes I have to say.
Right now I have a Mustang 1 v2 in the house:

The FUSE software is a surprise. Editable 'sag' and tube bias emulation, who knew?
The presets it comes with are over the top, but resetting them gets some sweet sounds considering it's SS.
Substantial bass response & volume given the small spr.
Overdriving the input results in digital armageddon.
17lbs. May have a winner.

I own a mustang and it does everything but high gain pretty ok. I like it enough to not sell it because the resale is dog shit and it has enough convincing tricks.

I'll allow it, Ben.
