NEED Amp Advice

I got a 1998 Les Paul Studio a few months ago, and i've been playing more seriously. Playing stuff like chon and polyphia. I need help on deciding on a new amplifier. Ive been playing through a Line 6 Spider IV 15 forever. I know my les paul could pull of an amazing tone but I need advice on which direction to take. Money is not an issue, would love to be schooled on this subject (whoever would take the time to break it down). Thanks! -Rob

You need a rock amp with medium to high gain. There are many upon many that would fit the bill. I listened to polyphia. Sounds British in terms of amp tone but some American amps could probably get there like the Mesa Boogia Dual Recto.

This amp would definitely do the trick, and is extremely versatile. Cleans, two flavors of crunch, and full on ripping leads. Lots of flexibility, and this guy is selling at a good price. Could probably talk him down $20.

Maybe a Marshall... sounds like y'all would use something like a JVM, but it's preference

Time to step up a level....Spider V!

Just kidding. When you say $ is no issue, you may need to specify, otherwise there's a guy selling a DAR stack for 5k that should rock
For a natural next step from Spider, EVH/Peavey combos should be considered (Craigslist)

If money is no object, Mesa Boogie JP-2C or a Friedman Dirty Shirley

Mesa Boogies can cover A LOT of tone ground.
The Friedman Dirty Shirley is all ROCK AN ROLL!!!

After checking out both bands, I would avoid an actual amp and grab either a Line 6 Helix of an AxeFX II XL.

I wouldn't bother with the AX8 because I assume you'll want dual amp patches. There is a LOT going on in some of that material.
