just got back from seeing 1964 the tribute beatles tribute at fl theater. They put on a great show. Very good sound, vocals were top notch, dead on harmonies, and nice selection of beatles tunes. They only played tunes before sgt peppers album but since that's all they played they were able to cover a large number of tunes from that early to mid era. All of the members are great musicians. The guitar amps on stage were just for show, i believe vox tonelabs st direct to boards were used. All the guitar solos were boosted in level at the board.
Tom (aka george) broke string on country gentleman gretsch mid night and switched to the Tennessean for several songs while his tech replaced the string. Near end of night graham, the guy playing paul broke a bass string!! He played on for last few songs with the broken bass string hanging from the violin bass. There was spare violin bass there he could have switched to but didn't. He didn't miss a note.
Anyway, i highly recommend them especially for beatles fans.
