Anybody know if you can toggle between two different models with this thing? If so, might be on my possible future purchase radar.

No kidding. Gorilla amp with a killer Memphis guitar. Sounded like 50 cats being raped by Bigfoot, and the action was the same.
Man this kid gave his old amp, and the distortion sounded like a blown speaker lol. So my Mom went out and got me a DOD "bag of bees special" distortion pedal, that sounded even worst.

$800 or so.
For under $500 you can get Dino's modded Marshall preamp from the man himself.

Didn't know about those amps. Thats cool. Did you see Dimarzio is coming out with sig nita strauss pickups? The bridge model is suppose to be a cross between the EVO and D activator. Sound like something I would like.

Been using an MXR Shin Juku (Dumble sim pedal) on my SS Randall RG80, for about a year now.
I originally bought it because, I was curious about the Dumble sound but, I discovered that it's excellent for adding tube-like squishyness to my RG80.
The RG80 is a very tight and responsive amp - something that works well for fast, hardcore punk and I've been happy with the amp for over 25 years.
However, I've been digging the squisyness of my Sunn Solarus and the Shin Juku gives me that feel and tone on my SS Randall. Pretty cool.

Hotone Heart Attack (AC30)
Hotone Purple Wind (Plexi)

Not sure what amp i'll get next. I don't really play out or loud enough to get another tube amp. I should just get a Katana combo or something.

I know lots of folks love the Katana, but I have tried that amp multiple times over the last few months at the local store. Even had them update the software and I still don't care for it. I have an ID 60 and a Peavey XXL too, so maybe there just isnt enough difference to impress me. I also didnt care for the Yamaha 10X. To me all the models sounded alike unless you turned it up louder than I was interested in. The ID 60 is somewhat like that also. Sometimes I like to go all 80's retro and break out the GK 100 stereo head. Still the best Maiden/Def Lep. sounds through a stereo 4X12.

I've had modeling amps and pedals in the past, and my big thing is I just don't use most of the amps/effects. Plus i don't like all the prgramming and tweaking.

Been trying some distortion pedals, and kinda like the following.
MXR 5150 pedal
Tonebone Hot Britsh V9
EH op fuzz reissue.
The 5150 pedal has a lot of gain, and does metal pretty good. Its a lot better then I thought it would be. The Hot British V9 would be my go to "Mashall" in a box sound. It sounded great. And if I was into fuzz, that Billy Corgan fuzz sounds great. What have you guys tried lately?

I played a Katana for a while, and while its a cool amp, it doesn't sound like I want. I still like the Blackstar ID the best in modelling amps. But I have never owned either, so I can't really tell. Check out the new super crunch box

If you like the ID series, get this little head. I think I posted it in this thread before...
They go for like $100 on ebay. Full stereo head.
Also, EHX is making amps and cabinets now. $300.

HELSTRUME wrote:So whats up guys. Man i wish they made SS power tubes lol. I would love to have another Mesa boogie, but I hate messing with tubes. And my 50 calibers ate them. I saw that marty friedman has passive emg sigs now. A couple people said they were based on the JB/Jazz set. I want something new, tired of the Duncan Distortion. I heard the dean baker act was like a higher output JB with tight bass, and more low mids. I might try one out. Or maybe some schecter pickups. Something different.
You seen this?

Analog distortion circuit. Designed specifically for this pedal. Wonder how it compares to those digital mini preamps?

This one has amp sims instead of a distortion pedal. Friedman BE-100, Dual Rec and Diezel VH4 models.
