It's a rotary launcher that carries 8 AGM-86 cruise missiles. Each one can be armed with a nuclear warhead with a 250 kiloton yield and a 1500 mile range. For comparison, the Hiroshima bomb was about 15 kilotons. The B52 can carry a total of 20 of these. Basically, one of these planes can destroy a small country on its own.

So 20 of these and each holds 8 nuclear warheads? For a total of 160 cruise missiles?

I think he means 20 AGM-86s. The rotary launcher plus 12 missiles on pylons. That's still a fuckload of firepower though.

Right now, the US has around 100 B52Hs in service.

Such an incredible platform -- first introduced in 1950s, it's expected to remain in service until 2040 (with upgrades) -- and they're studying if it's feasible to go beyond that.

It has the longest range without aerial refueling of any bomber (about 4,500 miles), and carries up to 60,000 pounds of ordnance, including nuclear bombs and nuclear-tipped missiles.

Half a dozen of those, along with a few AC-130 gunships, could really fuck up a country.

:D

First time I saw it I was in tears. So much win:

Fuck you Baltimore!

Shove it up your ugly ass!

Home of challenge pissing!

We'll fuck your wife!

Here's the backstory...

This highly over the top commercial was originally produced as a joke in 1990 for a faux award show put on be the Advertising Association of Baltimore called The Ad Follies. The AAB searched for agencies willing to produce ad spoofs mocking the top agencies in the city despite the impending threat that people working on these spoofs may place their jobs in jeopardy for doing so. The production was conducted at television studio WBFF and all of the footage originates from car manufacturer promotional videos and generic stock footage. The writer and narrator of the copy are still both unknown.

The video was never intended to be shown outside of The Ad Follies show because of the vulgarity and the possibilities of being viewed by the mocked. Copies were only distributed to people who worked on production and to WBFF employees following the screening.
