It's just a DIY Dr. Boogie pedal in a pretty enclosure.

It does sounds like a DR. Boogie. Interesting. I went to my GC a little while ago, and man they have nothing anymore. I wouldn't be suprised if they closed the one at my house. The other one is bigger, and does volume. But this one is always dead.

Just found an old Randall 1x12 and bought it on the GC used site.
Finally have a Jaguar speaker again.

Man these things sound really good. But I'm still leaning toward the Blackstar ID.

I orderd the RGOD and it didn't even process for almost a week. Just cancelled the order and got a used mint RD1H (I know, not SS) for the exact same price with free shipping. It fucking kills any other 1 watt head.
Going to wait for the winter NAMM instead of getting the RGOD. Mike Fortin said maybe something Dime-related was in the works. Possible Century reissue? I'll save my money for that.

Randall should do an accurate RG100ES Reissue.

Speaking if dimebag, a while back I was lazy and didn't bring my amp to practice, and used one of those dime heads, and was pleasantly surprised by how good of a high gain brootz sound it had

Ive heard that too. I cant get past the asthetics of them though lol.
I think Kirk Windstein's been using them.

When you get that RD1H, you are going to want to change V1 to a 12AT7 and put a different 12AU as well in there. Those Chinese tubes they come with make the amp really harsh. I love my RD5C now, almost took a hammer to it prior to the tube change, lol. Yes that harsh, really.
I have a Voodoo VRock 10 watt combo though, and for some reason, it sounds great with the Chin. tubes.

I use more gain than almost anyone, so I'm not sure about the 12AT7. I was thinking Tung Sol pre and a JJ 12AU7 for power.

That will work fine as well. It really didn't lessen the gain too much with the AT, just took the terrible brittle harshness away. Since the 5 and the 20 use a 6V6, I cannot help too much with the AU choice. Just ditch the stock tubes, way too brittle. I think you will be surprised. I hooked my 5 up to my 412 and was shocked at the sounds it can put out.

kirk Windstein has been using lots of different gear with Crowbar lately...along with the typical old RG's, he's been using Dime heads (very brief), new Randall heads, tube heads like Marshall 2203 and dsl's and i even saw him with a EVH 5153 head, or whatever they are called...?? They all sound good but i don't think those marshall tube heads sound right for Crowbar, too clean of a sound.

I was thinking about getting rid of all my crap, and just getting a Blackstar ID 30 combo. But it doesn't have a mid knob? And I kinda don't trust having a comp for an amp lol.

Well, today I scored a mint Ibanez TBX150 for $150. Kid never played it. This thing is super loud, and I finally have at least two twelve inch speakers again. this guys demo is pretty much it.
