Had to Goolge it... from Wikipedia:
"The film was a critical and commercial success, winning the BAFTA for Best Film Not in the English Language and the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film while Pedro Almodóvar (the director) won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. It is now generally regarded as one of the best films of the 2000s."
It's now in my Netflix queue!
