That story reminds me of those near-miss videos!!!

I got briefly into beatnik culture after reading Jack Kerouac's On the Road, several years ago. Even tried to get into jazz with only a modicum of success.
Recently, someone on FaceBook posted this 1950's photo of Cafe Bizarre, in NYC's Greenwich Village.
Check out what those hipsters are wearing!!!

The Cafe Bizarre photo inspired me to do some Googling and I found this crazy recording by Ellie Girl and a band called the Seven Beats Sulks. It was recorded at Cafe Bizarre in 1959...

You literally just tell them how many feet of shelf space you want, pick a category (prices vary by category) and they send you books to fill the space. The idea is for home decorating, but one of the reading/writing groups I'm in has been buying big batches of them and then randomly pulling books from the group buy to read and finding some real treasures in among the usual garbage. I'm half tempted to buy a foot or two of the vintage stuff and see what I come up with.

I saw a fruit tree in a cemetery and was thinking , um no fucking way would I eat that but then I thought , hmm why not ?
