I think we had this conversation before. Maybe it was here or maybe it was on HCAF.

Either way, Brad Whitford did play on Rock and a Hard Place. He did the rhythm guitars on Lightning Strikes. Listen to the album and read the credits.

Ha, that's exactly one song.

Personally, I wouldn't consider it Aerosmith if just Steven Tyler was gone and the rest of the band was there. But then again, Aerosmith is probably my favorite band, so I'm pretty die hard, lol :p

Baroness - Yellow & Green is an awesome record. But, I haven't heard people criticize it too much. There are definitely some entrenched metal heads out there who might bitch about it not being heavy, but I generally pay those people no mind.

I don't know how to take that. It's a really weird statement. An acceptable alternative that would have made sense is "wow! You know how to count." :thu:

I have the "bonus" tracks to this, if you haven't heard them.

What are the tracks? I MAY have them.

Didn't realize that they were released on UK and Japanese versions. It's just those 3.

Finally listened to Rock in a Hard Place. Definitely not Aerosmith's worst album. I think Done with Mirrors takes the award for worst Aerosmith album, lol. It does sound like an Aerosmith album even without Joe and Brad. Just goes to show how much influence Steven has on their writing process.

The cover of Cry Me a River is worth the price of the whole cd (IMHO) Add in Lightning Strikes, Jailbait, & Bitches Brew, and it's far from thier worst album. Granted it's not Rocks or Toys, but it's a pretty damn good album

Agreed. IMO that album was pretty much a blueprint for a lot of mid to late 1980s hair metal stuff. I hear it all over the first GNR album, Cinderella, etc.

Loudness: Thunder in the East. The song "Heavy Chains" has a great shred solo. Actually, the whole album is a shred solo.

Love that album, but hardly think it's underrated :cop:

It's pretty much thier biggest album ever. :idk: If you had said Heavy Horses, or Stormwatch, or even "A", I'd agree

I always liked Heavy Horses too, but I like quite a few Tull albums. Never got into Stormwatch or A though.

I think Fear Factory's Archetype is pretty underrated because Dino wasn't on the guitar. But Christian is a gotdamn rythm monster in the same league as Dino and they put out a pretty damn good record. The tone was great too.
