This dude's stand-up is hilarious. Wife and I watched it a few weeks back and he's brutal. He had a whole ten minutes on spiking somebody's baby just so he doesn't get asked to hold them anymore. We were dying laughing the whole time.

Most of my friends know better, but these days when someone tries to get me to hold a baby I say, "no thanks, I'm a vegitarian".

Probably not - you'd have to go through the metal piles before you significantly weakened the tire.
Re-grooving tires used to be a regular thing.

Having seen more than one tire have the metal layers shredded internally from rot, I'd argue it's entirely possible.
