Yea, if Yamaha did a head or big combo of the Hi-gain model, I would be all over that thing. They sound amazing. I have never heard the DV Marks. I'm falling behind on gear demoing lol.

Have you heard of Markbass? DV Mark is the guitar division - same company

The Multiamp is their brand new axe-fx type unit that has a built in 500 watt power amp.

You'd think it would be amazing but it just didn't work out for me

Just checked out their website. I didn't know Markbass had guitar amps also. I see Frank Gamble has a sig preamp. His Carvin sig didn't last long did it.

They need to stuff a THR into one of these:

Your right. A THR stomp would also be cool. I see Duncan has a new distortion pedal.

I think Walmper makes some of the best sounding pedals. I also really like the Mesa Full throttle.

Yeah, I thought that just came out?

It came out, and after a couple of months, was gone. It was probably crap. Kurt said the Douglas was made for the 24 scale. I measured, and the body is the same as my MIM body, but the bridge is in a different spot. So its not a conversion. So i'm gonna get a neck from best guitar parts, and slap it on.

Frank Gambale's Carvin preamp is 10 years old.

He was playing a JMP-1 before the DV Mark, so the Carvin was out for at least 5 years.

Too much crap to do around the holidays. I wanted to try some stuff at the music stores, but it seems like they have nothing any more. It sucks.

I just got back from my local mom n' pop to see if they could order me up a Two Notes Torpedo Live. They couldn't, plus it was just a depressing experience all around. I was the only person in the store that was not an employee and the amp section was dominated by Line 6 practice amps and HDs. No Marshalls, Peaveys, or Mesas. A handful of new guitars and very few used guitars.

:(

The smart mom n pop shops that still exist have moved to ebay/amazon. In fact, it's the only redeeming factor for ebay these days. Having a reputable business sell me shit with a quick paypal transaction.

Come to think of it, I haven't been burned on any auctions recently either. But they've all been music related and I'm sure a lot of those guys are on multiple forums.

Something I would like to see is for the my local shops to put up a simple website that features the gear they have in stock. That is something I would check weekly just to see if they have anything I am interested in. But they don't, so I maybe stop in twice a year and ultimately I buy the majority of my stuff online.

Speaking of, I need to get a hold of Loop to order a Torpedo Live.

Have not been through the whole thread so sorry if this has been asked. Anyone play the blackstar ID series amps?

I'm not sure of any Mom and Pop stores around here anymore. But we do have two GCs and a Samash now. I tried the ID amps, and they sound great. Lead 2 channel is a gain machine. I also really like having a 24 scale guitar, but the Douglas Peragros hardware is crap. So I started replacing it. So far I put in a MIM trem with the full size block "it fit perfect" and some strap locks. I have some pickplates and stuff coming in the mail, any day now. For right now, My GFS crunchy rail is going in the bridge. If I decide to change the neck out, then I'm gonna try a Duncan Black winter.

The MIM trem is double the weight of the old one. And the block fills up the trem cavity. Its 100 times nicer then what came on the guitar.

I was at a pawn shop a few years back and they had a newsletter they sent by e-mail. I know some of the big online outlets do that, but a local business would be even better.

I saw those guitars. But they don't offer lefty. I just need the pickplates now, the rest is good to go. And screw the crunch rails, I'm gonna do another Duncan.

Nobody has a router anymore, so I had to send my pickplate/backplate to pick guardian for a new one. It should be here next week. Then I can wire this guitar back up. Its either gonna get the Duncan Distortion or D activator. Not sure which to get yet.
