Made my Strat neck straight, and hit it with a fret rocker. Not one prob. So i'm not gonna level it. I just set it back up.

Awesome! Yeah, I was always afraid of it doing it also, but honestly, it is pretty easy as long as you go slow and just have a lot of attention of detail.

I think it takes me longest taping it all up.

Probably wait and see if you can get the strings super low with minimal buzzing. Half of my guitars are about as low as the ones I leveled, so I assume they must be pretty good to leave alone.

I have the neck relief at .010 on feeler gauge, and the action at 1.25 first string, and 1.75 at 6th. This seems the best for this radius/guitar. Friends had to be set at 1.5 and 2.0, and still doesn't play that good lol. But its a cheap Oscar Schmidt that hes had for years. And like me, he hates action higher then that.

I just have the acoustic, my Strat, and the b-52 cab left. Depending on how the new head sounds with it, i might get something else. Nobody still has the lefty schecters i'm looking at, so that sucks.

Last month I finally bought the tools and learned how to fret level. I did 4 of my guitars. I also picked up a cheap Schecter Omen Extreme for the fun of it, and I am liking it a lot.

I wanted to start playing with my recording software again. My computer died that had it all installed on quite awhile ago. I pulled the hard drive, and set it up to be used as an external on a different computer, and updated all my licenses. I pulled out one of my old MIDI keyboards and fixed the USB jack so it quit disconnecting from the computer.

I got a set of Kali Audio LP6 V2 Studio Monitors yesterday. I wanted to mess around with running guitar modelers with speaker sims again. It has been a few years since I have tried it seriously. I can also use them for my keyboard stuff. The only monitors I had, I have had for like 20 years, and they never sounded great.

Oh, I bought an empty Seismic 212 cab, lol. I almost forgot. I had a few extra speakers laying around and figured they should go in something instead of sitting in the basement on a shelf. I bought some V30s and G12T-75s and put them in the XXX cab. I haven't used it much yet though. I think I am finding nothing sounds good in my basement, lol.

I kinda went on a mini spending spree after not buying any gear for like a year.
I was gonna get a black cherry omen extreme, but everybody just had the leftys with floyds.

Some of the tutorials are just great. These guys most have spent tons of time with the software. Guess i'll see what speaker people like with their heads. I like the new Blackstar silverline also, but a lot of people said they are not reliable. We'll see what happens.

The katana's are great for grab and go, versatility, realibility and good decent tones especially in band mix. At home i tend to not play through the katana much as i have other amps i prefer the tone better. Even my tech 21 trademark 30 little combo i play a lot (sitting right next to my computer) sounds better to me. Marshall DSL50 through splawn 2x12 cab sounds worlds better! With that said i have been happy and impressed with the katana. I've gigged tons with it and it has worked great.

I'm sure the Splawn cab would make a Katana head sound very nice.

I have been toning down my tube-amp snobbery as I have fallen in love with SS bass amps.

I should hook it up. I also now have a katana v2 head as i recently sold an old mixer i wasnt using and with the proceeds got the v2 head. Only tried it at home with 1x12 peavey greenback loaded cab and through a 4x12 Marshall MG(facepalm) cab (that was in rented rehearsal room) and i like it. Having the additional variations on each amp type is great. The alternate for the clean especially it significantly more to my liking (its more fenderish).

I started playing a lot of Iron Maiden and crap like that, so I got a Marshall head. Now I need to replace the Duncan distortion. The Katana does too much for my brain area  Now i'm thinking of getting this eq https://www.mastereffectspedals.com/eqfh

I always liked the thump of Hartke ss amps. My friend had an Ampeg, and damn that thing sounded great. But he sold it, and went back to playing guitar :idk:

I have a 12" Ampeg Bass combo. I dont use it much, but it sounds nice when I get in the mood to play bass. It has a good clean sound for guitar also, but I haven't had much luck running distortion pedals into it for crazy sounds.

Put you a Super Distortion in there. :) Which Marshall head did you get?

I put one in one of my Schecters recently, but I didn't love it. I replaced it with a Duncan Invader, which is sounding pretty good in that guitar. I thought about replacing it with a Duncan Custom, but the Invader sounds pretty cool so I might just leave it for awhile.

I gave my Katana Head to a family member. I really wasn't using it much and thought he could get more use out of it.

I have been playing my Fractal FM3 more than anything lately. I bought a Studio Sub to go with my Studio Monitors, and it really helps bring the low end boom to make it seem more like playing through 412 cabs.

Just a DSL 20. I didn't need anything loud. Plus it does the classic metal sound pretty good, with a SD-1 for boost. I was thinking of trying a Bareknuckle holy diver for that better JB sound. I want tighter and clearer. I was also told a Dean baker act was a tighter/clearer JB. My friend loves the super distortion, but it didn't gel with me. I have never played an Invader.

Well I took the DSL back, I wasn't feeling it. I think i'm gonna just get the EVH Stealth lunch box. The red channel on it just rocks. And I really need to change the speakers out in my cab, or get a new cab. I'm not a fan of the stock speakers at all. I found some V30s for a great price, but they are 16 ohms. Guess it wouldn't matter if I turned my cab to 16 from 8. I'll just get a new wiring set from mojotone. I have been setting 2 hours a day a side to work out and play guitar. But the rest on PS4  I had quit gaming after a while after getting the second ps and xbox, cause thats all i did. But the Pandamic forced me to buy a ps4, and i'm addicted again. When google fiber came around offing 1 and 2 Gs of internet, I was throwing my money at them. And they opened a used game place down the street from me, so I have tons of games now!!! I still want another guitar, but also a PS5. Its just sad lol.

So I got another amp, and yes I went cheap  I couldn't justify spending the money when I just play at home for fun. I ended up getting a great shape Marshall MG100 head, footswitch and 4x12 cab for only 250 from this guy. Nothing wrong with the amp at all. Not even pot static. The cab also sounds a lot thicker and fuller then my B-52 cab. The B-52 sounded kinda hollow and thin. Maybe the speaker are beat :idk: The amps distortion is half decent for rock sounds, but the clean takes distortion pedals like a champ. Right not i'm running a Metalzone, but i'm looking at getting something like an empress heavy. I'm also looking at getting a Schecter CR-6. Its around 800, but feels and plays great. I also like the nuclear green color. The way a guitar feels, is real ocd for me. So I can justify spending the money. Plus using my CC will feel like I didn't even buy anything :cop:

That is a good price! I was watching videos of the 8100 the other day thinking why did I never buy one of these? lol. I wouldn't mind one, but they go for much more $$ these days.

I have a CR-6 in Charcoal color. It is a great guitar, but teeny tiny neck. I didn't realize how thin it was until after I had it for awhile compared with my other guitars. I got a Harley Benton Fusion HH a month or 2 ago. It is actually a great guitar for how cheap they are. I am thinking about grabbing some other Harley Benton guitars.

They went way up on the 8100. Too much now. I looked at the Harley Benton PRS copy. I do like the black flame look.

CR-6 is still on back order, and the HB prs copy says available in several months :wank: I was told the R-446 has a flat back like an Ibanez. Sucks Sterling doesn't make the JP-60 lefty anymore or the Axis. This is the reason I've had my Strat for years now lol.

Funny enough I saw one of those HB PRS copies in a shop after I got my Fusion. I would have never picked it up before, lol. It seemed pretty nice.

Yeah, that R-446 seems to have a 43mm nut, which I dont prefer. The Fusion neck is 42mm and nice and round, pretty Fenderish.

I'm considering grabbing a Strat type, and possibly a SG type.

That seems about right. My Fusion HH is pretty similar to my Schecter Hellraiser or Omen Extreme in terms of neck shape / thickness.

I see they have the Fusion 3 now. And the new LPs look nice. Those necks are only .787 like the Schecters. Nice. Maybe i'll get a vintage sunburst one  I would like another LP.

Yeah, mine is the Fusion 3 series. I thought about a LP also, but I never seem to like the feel of LPs. That is why I thought about an SG. Out of the Gibson style designs, those usually feel the best to me.

I think I want a script phaser also. Everybody was sold out when I last looked. I got cheap and ordered a Joyo dark flame distortion and it got lost in the mail. So I said screw being cheap with distortion so I went to order the Okko black edition and it was sold out. Same with the Kilington oh my goat, and empress heavy. Now i'm thinging a Diezel herbert or revv g4. That triple box of metal is also on back order. So damn lol.
