I did my GGF civic duty and voted. Is it acceptable to say who you voted for? Probably not but I will anyway.
Best head cab - Very tough category, probably the most hard fought of all the BOTR categories. Hats off to all the brave warriors doing battle.
Anyway, after much thought and a couple of sleepless nights, I went with Marc. Why? I love a bassman and p-90 LP's.
Best Combo - Itchy because Space Echo and Jr.
Best Studio - I started to enter this one but I figured a recording rig consisting ONLY of an iPhone probably wouldn't win. Loop has this one covered but I went with an underdog and chose Ajax.
Best Bass rig - Marc's Tele bass was hard to ignore but i went with Itchy and the Pittman, in honor of the old grouchy man.
Wet/Dry stereo rig - After much thought, I "Diocided" to choose Diocide.
Best budget rig - I'm sorry, any way you slice it, a rig consisting of a Matchless, a Dr Z and a LPC is NOT a budget rig.
This category needs to be re-vamped. Duncan is my hero for trading like a pro but I went with Yarbicus.
Best large pedalboard - I chose Duncan and his big-ass board.
Best small pedalboard - This was a hard choice but I went with Marc's board. Its hard for me to ignore anything that includes the words "tape echo" prominently displayed.
Best modelling rig - Indy
Best rackmount - CEOwl
Maybe next year we could have a best live rig category, which must include vids of the rig out in the wild on a stage, where we can hear how it sounds and judge each other's sexy stage moves. So if your rig isn't really great you can make up for it by having an awesome pelvic thrust.
Just a thought.
