Drum samples - what do you use?

Hey, what are y'all using for drum sounds, those of you who build MIDI drum tracks? I've been looking for good-sounding acoustic drum samples—MT Power Drumkit is free, and I like its built-in grooves, as they automate a lot of the annoying grind work while still letting me fine-tune the final drum patterns, but I don't totally love the actual drum sounds.

Suggestions welcome. I'm looking for rock, not necessarily metal, drum sounds. Free is obviously nice, but if not-free sounds a lot better, I'm open to buying.

I like the groove monkee stuff. It sounds good and is pretty cheap per volume of tracks. Plus, it's pretty versatile.

Used Addictive for years. Switched over to Linux and started using several available freebies. This one is probably my favorite.

I've used SSD since SSD4 and to my ears they improved it with SSD5.5

I have no help regarding the free kits. I think it's better to have a lot more kit/sample options. Having several excellent kits available is great.

Protools used to give away SampleTank with every new device they sold. I just started remixing a song for 13 years ago that had a Sampletank set on it - and they have a LOT of midi drums. I got that whole Sampletabk setup for free and I cannot believe how much I have used it.

I also have ADD Drums 1. And I have an Alesis HR1. Generally, I create the drum part on the Alesis and record the midi. Then it is easy to map the Alesis midi to be played back by ADD Drums - so that I what I do.

There are tons of midi drumset options out, many free. If you have a keyboard you can create a full song of drums. Here is a free drumkit:

https://drumbit.app/ and here is a starting beat: You can actually buy the full program for $1.99. This alone would make it easy to create beats for an entire song assuming you create them in the app and record them to a sound file which you import to your DAW.

Kind of need an ideal price range for the samples, OP. There are so many products from so many companies out there.

I have Slate drums 4 (never use it anymore; I find it extremely un-intuitive), Superior Drummer 3, and my Maschine came with some Abbey Road kits that are also quite good
