Thanks bud!
This is my third tonebender, but my first MKIII, my others are a MK1.5 (which is apparently a FF) and a MKII. In other words, its not a direct comparison, but all I have to go off of! My others are a bit raspy, lots of aggressive bite to the attack. This Bender is a beast, dude. Tons of low end, really thick. Doesn't clean up like a FF, but they aren't really known for that. Its a perfect middle ground between a FF and Muff. The mode switch boosts the mids for more cut, its always on for me. Build quality is decent, looks like it will stand up just fine to gigging abuse. I guess the originals used Ge trannies and these use surface mount Si, but it sounds amazing, so I don't really care. Pretty cool that JHS is offering clones of rare unobtanium pedals for just $150. I would (and probably will) get the whole series.
The LP is really unique, and I love it to death. It's trans black, but I've never seen another with that much grain popping, and so little flame. It used to belong to Ibenhad, I always thought he was crazy for letting it go but I'm so glad he did!
