There's a budget category? :hmm: Might be time to break out the Peaverty Stupido Poor with the TC Dark Matter and my $250 flying V. That's also small enough to haul out of my messy ass studio room and set it up somewhere clean.

Indeed there is. Under $1K including guitar.

Shit.
Amp - $89
Speaker upgrade - $80
Guitar - $250
Pickup upgrade - $110
Tuner upgrade - $60
Cables - $30
Dark Matter Pedal - $35

I'm just over half that budget. Now to find the ambition to dig it out from behind the stack of pedals currently in front of it.

Thanks bud!

This is my third tonebender, but my first MKIII, my others are a MK1.5 (which is apparently a FF) and a MKII. In other words, its not a direct comparison, but all I have to go off of! My others are a bit raspy, lots of aggressive bite to the attack. This Bender is a beast, dude. Tons of low end, really thick. Doesn't clean up like a FF, but they aren't really known for that. Its a perfect middle ground between a FF and Muff. The mode switch boosts the mids for more cut, its always on for me. Build quality is decent, looks like it will stand up just fine to gigging abuse. I guess the originals used Ge trannies and these use surface mount Si, but it sounds amazing, so I don't really care. Pretty cool that JHS is offering clones of rare unobtanium pedals for just $150. I would (and probably will) get the whole series.

The LP is really unique, and I love it to death. It's trans black, but I've never seen another with that much grain popping, and so little flame. It used to belong to Ibenhad, I always thought he was crazy for letting it go but I'm so glad he did!

That's what's I've gotten from the Demos.... a kinda in between FF and Muff.... all the stuff I've seen with the 4 new models the Bender seemed to do what I look for in a fuzz the best. it's on my list for sure.

Sweet baby Jesus, how did they get away with putting that ass on primetime? I've heard it was the only comedy show in its day without a laugh track.

CSB - my grandpa worked for several of the big studios in Hollywood for like 40 years. One of his gigs was driving the Batmobile to on-location shots and back to the studio.
