Recording/Keyboard Desk - BUSTED!!!!

Now that I'm in the new crib and have more space for gear....
Mine will be all black. Two week build time, one week shipping. WOOO HOOOOO!!!! :party:

I did a lot of online searching and this was the best one I could find that suited by needs: 61 key controller, desk top for shit, upper shelf for speakers/computer and 4 rack spaces.
Keyboard shelf height is adjustable: 4.5", 5.5" and 6.75".
The desk dimensions are: 48" wide x 28" deep.
I'm going to put a 120v outlet in the middle space, between the racks.
Assembly takes about 30 minutes.

This one is black, but sized for an 88 keyboard... 6 rack spaces on this size...

Don't do black. I've made the mistake of using black desks and it sucks IMO. Especially if you have a black keyboard, black iphone, etc.

The desk will be made of pvc laminated melamine... which could be OK but, I sent Art, the owner, an email asking for a quote using real wood instead of melamine.
If the pvc coating has a faux wood-grain and is similar to Formica, not tolex, I'll just go with pvc.

EDIT: Got that wrong! :lol:
PVC is used on the edges.
Melamine Laminate is used on the surfaces.

I'm getting engineered wood, covered with a melamine laminate.
PVC bumpers are installed on all the edges.

They offer optional hardwood veneer for an additional $275... not bad but, I'm sticking with the laminate... Art said the laminate and the wood veneer are both durable.
I'm hoping the laminate will resist rings from beer cans better! :lol:

Totally looking forward to writing and recording more... and participating in more Drum Jams.
In the above photo (of my DAW at the old crib) I literally had a 3' x 3' space to stand/sit, in front of the computer.
That space was also occupied by a laundry bag and my shoes of the day. :lol:

After three weeks of waiting.... :mad:
I contacted the builder and asked him to ship another one.

Somewhere along the line, the crate was crushed and the contents damaged.
The crate was shrinkwapped back together so, when it arrived today, it looked OK... looks can be deceiving...

As soon as I cut the shrink wrap, the whole crate collapsed...

The monitor/speaker riser was broken in two spots...
