10' by 20', 7.5' ceilings. This room was a nightmare. Sounded like an echo chamber. Put in wall to wall carpet and got a bunch of cheap down comforters for the walls, as well as blackout curtains for the sliding glass door. Sounds better now, but still haven't played in it. I just moved my amps today. It'll probably be a week until I get in there for good.
Just a thought... If youre still having reflections, you could also loosely tack some blankets or fabrics from the ceilings. You probably dont need that now, but its a thought. Or place a few of those panels they put in commercial drop-cielings.

Got my recording stuff moved in and setup. First thing I did was crank Nothings Shocking. Acoustics are actually very good. In my old room there was a messed up sound in the high end that was driving me crazy.

So comrade.. That IS a pretty cool thing having a basement... The sound may escape upwards into to the house, but that usually isnt as big a problem as its blaring out to the neighbors. Im out in the fuckin west, & there arent any basements... so bullshit as it is, were always trying to contain the sound into above ground space. In my case, I might be getting a biggish TUFF SHED for my needs. Either way, its probably gonna be above ground & need to be soundproofed as much as possible... & that sucks. I sure wish I had a basement!!
