Man, this. You hear him wail on those first two albums in particular, and it's amazing to think that, other than him, that's the exact same group of dudes who became the 80s Chicago.

Lotsa good stuff in this thread.

Anathema? Their cover of 'your possible pasts' by pink Floyd is good, man!

Matisyahu? He's in regular rotation on my CD player. I have every album of his. I'm not religious and i don't like reggae at all, but he's so uber-melodic and has a good message.

70s Chicago? HELL yes!

Lady Gaga? I've had a few beers and sang Bad Romance at karaoke night. Rocked the SHIT out of it, too.

And like the other dude said, I make no apologies for my musical tastes. I appreciate a good hook or rhythm or groove or what-have-you. It's all subjective.

This! I am always telling my friends who think Tool or anyone who sounds like them are the only band worthy of listening to, that if a song has a groove, a hook, or a good melody...Then there's a good chance I'll enjoy it. I don't care if you think what I enjoy sucks either, because quite frankly I probably listen to a lot of the same shit you do as well. And on that same note, I probably think your pretentiousness about music sucks, so... :)

What I'm trying to say is, I agree completely with you.

I'm glad I grew up at around age 26 and realized a good song is a good song is a good song, artist be damned.

I have so much of what's been listed already, plus plenty of others you gheys don't like so yeah... :cop:

But few comments:

I've dug K.C. since her second record. The first one "Breakaway" or whatev was too :snore: but since then, pretty win. But then again I like a lot of girl-pop anyway.

The bass guy from Matisyahu is Stu Brooks from Dub Trio and a lotta other stuff. He's a fkn monster.

this cover of "Toxic" is awesome lol

i <3 A7X but i think they're about done with The Rev being dead, at least judging from their single last year...

and i pretty much only jam pop-kuntry on iHeartradio nowadays... :cop:

Thanks for that info, I need to look into this guy. It's rare a bass tone grabs me by the ear the way it did in that video.

Which stuff?

Learn to play some of it. Pretty easy stuff & fun as hell to play, if you like that kinda thing.

This. I checked out some late 1960s Chicago on Youtube a while back. Amazing for sure.

My guilty pleasure is that I just learned from you that such a thing existed.
