Re: SS Posse
I played that carvin, and hated it. Don't know if it was broke, but it sounded horrible. Ended up buying a Acoustic lead 35 1x12 combo on clearence for $60. I like the clean, and it seems to take distortion pedals well. At volume the distortion sounds like high gain fuzz. Nothing great, but fun to play. The effects are useless, and the stock speaker is crap. But for the price, it will do untill the end of the year.

Re: SS Posse
I saw that mini Katana there, but didn't try it. They had a section with all the mini's

Re: SS Posse
Couldn't take the metalzone anymore, so I got rid of it. I think I want a thin neck guitar next, like a Jackson or Ibanez. For some reason, i'm starting to really like them now. After trying a few this week, my Strat neck feels too thick.
Re: SS Posse
I don't consider Jackson's compound radius neck to be thin. Compared to a Wizard series Ibanez they are normal feeling. I never could play the Ibanez very long, too thin. If you dont have gobs of money, if you go for a Jackson, a Jap used early 2000's dinky is very reasonable. I just tried out one of the Indo SL2 pros and it was a great guitar. Not $900 great, but they can be had for $450-$499 used.
I have owned everything from the bottom of the barrel to custom shop Jacksons, so if you have any questions let me know.

Re: SS Posse
Thanks man. I play lefty, and have seen some of the stealths and dinkys used left handed. How do those necks compare?
Re: SS Posse
So whats up guys. Man i wish they made SS power tubes lol. I would love to have another Mesa boogie, but I hate messing with tubes. And my 50 calibers ate them. I saw that marty friedman has passive emg sigs now. A couple people said they were based on the JB/Jazz set. I want something new, tired of the Duncan Distortion. I heard the dean baker act was like a higher output JB with tight bass, and more low mids. I might try one out. Or maybe some schecter pickups. Something different.
Re: SS Posse
Well i wanted something new, so I ordered an ENGL straight to hell. If I don't like it, i'll try something else.
Re: SS Posse
Got the pedal, and I like it. Sounds great, even with my cheap amp.
Re: SS Posse
Sent the ENGL back, wasn't feeling it. Really bright at level, with no bass. Sill not sure what to get next. Also tired of the Duncan distortion. Might just try the Dimarzio D activator next.

Re: SS Posse
Why not just try a couple of the Mooer mini preamp pedals?
Re: SS Posse
Man i'm thinking of getting a cab and either a Hotone heart attack, or Joyo Zombie head. That might be fun.

5150:
Friedman HBE:
Engl Savage:
Soldano SLO:
Bogner Shiva:
Re: SS Posse
Nice. The Acoustic amp doesn't have an effects loop, so no preamp pedal Man I need side by side vids of those new Hotones. Will have to hit youtube.

Re: SS Posse
They're all up there, except the Friedman one. I think they used the name Friedman in the tag and it got removed for some sort of violation.

That was impressive. So many great choices out right now, for not a lot of cash.

No kidding. Gorilla amp with a killer Memphis guitar. Sounded like 50 cats being raped by Bigfoot, and the action was the same.
