Welcome!!!!
Any sort of practice amp will probably work. I'm guessing you want to keep it cheap? Gives us an idea of your budget and we can narrow down some options.

Welcome to GAB Jay! When you are just getting started, pretty much any amp that works will do. I'd recommend getting a small combo with some effects, like a Boss Katana, Yamaha THR, or a Fender Mustang.

I like the Randall RG80, Peavey Bandit and Tech 21 Trademark 30.

agree totally with the Katana or THR.... THR is great if you don't plan on jamming any time soon but if you have friends that play too and you figure there's a chance you might jam, then the Katana might be the better way to go IMO

Grab a small combo and don't break the bank. if you are just learning, odds are your taste will change and you will want a new amp anyways. Good luck in your ventures!

For some of us though, this is a never ending quest.

+1 on the katana or thr10
Re: beginner /introducing myself
A Katana 50w combo should work well. They can be played as .5 watts, to keep it quiet for practicing, and then if you jam with some people, or just want to be loud, 50 watts. The built in effects sound good too, you can experiment. It wont go out of style as you get better either. Lots of great players, at all levels.
