New Guy- Vid, Pics, And Some Music

New guy. First post. Some links and pics.
Too much gear. Too many guitars. I recently
retired and if you look at my photobucket pages,
you'll see the dream home we bought last year,
and why looking out the window of my man cave/
music room can be inspiring.

Keep in mind if you watch or listen to any of these that I've
only been playing for 53 years, so I'm not that good.

I'm also my own worst critic. Nothing I put in my finished folder
is good enough. Also I feel that ones music, reflects ones
soul, and by watching or listening to any of these will give you
more insight into who I am, moreso than anything I could say in
words.

We moved last year after we retired and bought our dream home in the country.
I lost count of how many times I've had to put my guitar back in its stand to
take some more pics. Aside from the acreage and the pond, and the huge garden,
looking out the window at all of the Marty Stauffer moments has been inspiring.

Here is my photobucket link and the first few pages are of the wildlife and
pond denizens right outside my window.The rest of the pics are of gear, guitars,
and fish. Fishing is another great love in my life.

A full stack I bought new in 72'/ with the 100w JMP head.
It has the Marshall 6100 LE , 30th anniversary model paired
with that stack.
It has the blue tolex and EL34s unlike the LM edition which
does not have the EL34s.

The JMP has no master vol, unlike the ones made later in
the 70s, and does not really start to get the
Marshall brake up sound until 7 or so on the Richter scale.

The 6100 LE with the EL 34s really makes them old greenbacks sing in
a way the JMP never could. Channel two on the 6100 LE is sick.
I bought the 6100 used in 2013, as it had always been on my wish list.
After playing through it, I can definitely say it is the best sounding
Marshall I've ever played. And I've played quite a few.

The 30th Anniversary, (also called the Marshall 6100), model has the LE and the LM editions, easily discernible by the color of the tolex.

The LE had the blue tolex and the LM had the black. The LE with the brass chassis was configured
for the EL34 valves. The LM's came out with 6L6 tubes due to a EL34 shortage at the time, although I've read that
that there were some LMs with EL34s. Just not very many. The LE had 800 made, and many feel it's the better of the two.
I've only played the LE and have no comparison to make with it going up against an LM. I'm just glad I have #177 out of 800.
The LM models were made by Marshall for a few years after 92' as it was a popular amp.

The Agile is a custom order I placed with Kurt at Rondo as the first Agile I had bought was an AL3200, neck thru, non-Floyd,
ebony fb, and aside from it being a somewhat heavy guitar, it was very well made and sounded great. That is why I ordered the
custom model. The Al-3xxx. I opted for the weight relieved body, the color, inlay choice, binding choices, neck length, number of frets, and bridge type. Baritone neck lengths at the Agile page of Rondo music start at 27 inches, so it is not a baritone length neck.

Basically, you tell them what you want from the choices available for that body style guitar, make a down payment, and 3 to 6 months later, you have your guitar. Of course the options selected will affect the bottom line cost. I ordered a 25 and a half inch neck, with 24 frets, which is why it is longer overall then the Gibson Axcess. The Axcess has 22 frets over 24 3/4" ,versus the Agile which has 24 frets over 25 1/2". At the time I bought it, the Gibson Axcess had been on my wish list. The custom Agile with all of the options I ordered was about $1200 US at the time, (2012),and the Gibson Axcess were $3500 +. I like both of them. The Gibson is "cooler" but dollar for dollar , I would have to give the edge to the Agile, not only because it's cheaper, but it also plays and sounds great.

Here are a two examples of the two guitars. The first one was recorded with the Gibson Axcess.

Satriani has been and continues to be one of my favorite guitarists. He has been a source
of inspiration in my quest for the "perfect" note.

I have 9 Satriani guiitars in my collection. One not shown is the JS 2400. I also have two
of the Ibanez JS predecessors, which are the 540R's, that the JS models were based on. They
are all buried in the latter pages of my photobucket link. There are 20 pages there, and the
first 10 or so are pics of the new home, and the abundent wildlife right outside my window.
I'm still in awe over the Marty Stauffer moment we had a few weeks ago watching a doe give
birth to twins, and then to have her twin bucks from last year watching and then coming in to
check out the newborns. It was amazing. Check the pics.

I've not bought a guitar in over a year, (I might be getting better. lol), and now the the
JS series is finally releasing a version with a sustainiac, I may bite the bullet and get one of
those as well. The "Monk" in me would love to round that number up to 10. A much nicer number.

One thing about photobucket lately, is the annoying popups. I apologize for that if your trying
to navigate the 20 pages of pics. Just close them out.

Thankyou so much FF. I'm very insecure about my playing. I'm never truely happy with what ends up
in my finished folder. I can always listen later and hear every mistake, or what I could have done
to make it better. Just part of who I am. I don't know if this attitude has made me any better as
a guitarist, but I've always had it. That being said, in the profile section of my soundcloud page
on the top right, I list a few that don't necessarily suck.

I jokingly refer to my music into two categories.
1. It sucks, or
2. It sucks less.

I am my own worst critic. I feel most of it sucks with extra sucky crumbs on top.

Those Echoplex's...

EP-3's, Ep-4's ?

EP-2's. I bought the first one new in 72' and the second one was given to me a few years later.
The second one was not working and I had thoughts of using it for parts , if needed.
As it turns out, all that was wrong with the second one was the power supply. One hundred dollars later,
and I now have two.
