I really want to try the head version for the same reasons. But man the ES-5 and 8 footswitchs cost some bucks Got to try a Ibanez Vai Jr since they are lefty now, and I like it. I think I want a flatter neck then my Strat to play with. If I do another LP type guitar, I think it will be ESP. I really like the EC 1000
Re: SS Posse
So whos gonna get one of the Boss amps? I have really been thinking about getting the head and a cab, but I will probably never use half the crap in it lol. Maybe I should just do a cab, poweramp and a pedalboard.
Re: SS Posse
I ordered the head. Should be here tomorrow. Will clip it up this weekend.HELSTRUME wrote:So whos gonna get one of the Boss amps? The 4-channel footswitch for the Katana 100 is the GA-FC, which costs $99. The 50w uses any single button footswitch.
You can also use a single button footswitch with 100w if you only need 2 channels.
The ES-5/8 are not footswitches, they're pedal switchers (loopers) and have nothing to do with the Katana amps.

Alright, cool. I was trying to find which footswitches went to which amp. But you have to use the Midi with the head right? My GC needs to get a couple in stockGuitarBilly wrote:HELSTRUME wrote:I really want to try the head version for the same reasons. No you don't have to use the MIDI with the head. The GA-FC footswitch works just fine without MIDI, it connects to the amp via a stereo instrument cable (TRS plugs), which is supplied with the pedal.
The MIDI out is an extra option, but not something you have to use.

Ok cool. I did know that at all. Maybe the head would be the thing to get! Now I feel excitementGuitarBilly wrote:HELSTRUME wrote:Alright, cool. That Quilter is suppose to be just 150 bucks. That price rocks.

Re: SS Posse
Got to play the 100 watt Katana combo today, and it is a nice sounding amp. I liked both the lead and brown. I would love to hook it to a comp and play with it. I'm gonna go to the other GC, and see if they have the head. I also tried the new Line 6 amps. Nothing great, but the Duel Rec model was fun to play. But it still sounded Line 6. And its really imo just for lower volumes.

Re: SS Posse
Got my Katana head this morning. Played with it for about 30 minutes so far. Ran it through a 5150 4x12 and a VTM 4x12 loaded with G12H-30's. I'll do a proper NAD thing with clips, pics and review, but as of right now I'll say I liked it better with the darker sounding 5150 cab and so far I think it's good. I do feel I need to get into the editor and tweak things more to my liking.
"You are playing truck stop level, shit boxes through one of the best amps on the planet, with no fucks given."
Re: SS Posse
Yea, the combo was bright. I was thinking darker speakers would be better. Hopefully I can find the head, and play through some different cabs.
Re: SS Posse
Randall RG-80 checking in. Kickass amp, will play it through the Mesa 2x12 tomorrow.

Back on HC a few members had that Randall, and loved them. Why doesn't Randall remake them? I have yet to try them or the Ampeg VH140c. They sell fast in the used sections.

Randall briefly produced the RG8040. It was a remake with the new third blue channel for super modern high gain like the RG13 pedal.
Re: SS Posse
Thats cool. A friend of mine gave me a Vox ad30vt, and man it sucks lol. It has a couple of decent cleans, but I hate all the distortions, and it doesn't take pedals worth a crap. I'm going to trade it for something at GC.Statutory Gape wrote:HELSTRUME wrote:Back on HC a few members had that Randall, and loved them. Why doesn't Randall remake them?
