I wondered if they would do minis.
Re: SS Posse
I'm really digging the Engl straight to hell distortion pedal.

Re: SS Posse
All three of those drive/distortion pedals sounded sorta . . . well, not great. I suppose the straight to hell was the best of them, but still left a little fizz up top I wasn't fond of.
I'm partially intrigued by the "no connections" board, but the last thing I'd ever need is a proprietary "you can only use our pedals" pedalboard.

Re: SS Posse
I'll def try the pedals when they come out. I'm hoping the fizz is just youtube or recording. But your right about the pedalboard. I'm not too impressed.

I suppose the fizz could be mic position. Looks like it's pointed right at the center of the speaker.
Re: SS Posse
I like the AMT E2. It would be pretty bad, if they sound more ENGL, then ENGLs own pedals lol.

Re: SS Posse
AMT is releasing the Stonehead in a 100W rackmount format.
Re: SS Posse
A rack stonehead would rock. Wonder what the price is? That Blackstar might also be promising.

Re: SS Posse
The new Stonehead uses the micro triodes instead of FETs which have always been used in SS amps.
They first released these a few years back, and were the basis of their solid state tube replacements. These go right in a tube socket.

Re: SS Posse
Mini AMT distortion pedals. For those that just want a basic dirt box and not a preamp pedal.
Re: SS Posse
Well I replaced the blue marvels in my XXL with Eminence V12s, and now the amp rocks

Re: SS Posse
I really like my amp with the v12's, they are great speakers. However I kinda want one of those tight metal Jr distortion pedals.

Re: SS Posse
So who owns an Ibanex TBX series amp? I can get a 65 pretty cheap and the tones appear unique. As stated in prior posts I own a mix of tube and SS stuff. I just got an Archon 25, but always looking for other unique stuff.

Re: SS Posse
I had the TBX 150 for awhile. It wasn't a bad amp, and was ripping loud. Tons better then the first series. Just change out the stock speaker.

This is the vid that made me want one lol. I still like the tight metal, the Rivera metal shaman and the Empress heavy the best.

Re: SS Posse
Whats the price gonna be on those new ENGL pedals? Me and a freind went to GC, and played a bunch of different amps and stuff. He loved this Crate GX thats modeled after the Ampeg VH. It had some crushing distortion. I played some Blackstar ID core amps, and I still really like them. He wants a little amp for his computer desk, and I think the ID core 10 would be Perfect for that. I also played that Marshall Code amp. Man I like it. It has some rocking distortion. I really liked a couple of the Metal distortions. Next to the blackstar, imo its the best modeller. Its only 199 for the 1x10 combo. It sucks this GC doesn't have Randall stuff. What have you guys played lately?
