They're made by Artec, who manufactures GFS pickups too.

I'd go for the exclusive models like this: http://www.caliguitar.com/pickup/h77.htm

The other ones seem to be identical the Crunchy Rails and Power Rails.

So how are the pickups? Sold my amp and distortion pedal last week, in search of a new amp. Got some new strings in GC, and they had a near mint first gen Peavey Vypyer 15 for only $40. I ended up getting it for a "under the computer practice amp." There is nothing wrong with it, and it sounds really decent. I like the Rectifier distortion. But at the moment, I have no idea what amp i'm gonna get.

More output than the BLUSA. Quite an improvement.

Picked up a little Randall RG-20 head. Has less gain/crunch than I remember the larger RG heads having. Maybe it's the cab. Anyway, it does a great fuzzy tone with the bass cranked and an OD in front. Maybe I'll use it for dirt pedals from now on.

I wasn't feeling it with the Vypyr, so I took it back. Played a few more amps, but didn't get anything.

Saw a Peavey XXL 2x12 combo with the footswitch on GC's site, so I nabbed it. The guy at the store said there was nothing wrong with it at all. so we'll see. The pics looked clean with no rips or anything. I should have it in a couple of days. Then i'll look into either new pickups for my Strat, or getting an "LP" type guitar.

I have the XXL head on a 2 12 cab and it rules for a SS amp. I hope your combo is in good shape. This guy gets a lot of great tones from one.

Nice :rawk: I was gonna do a head and cab, but I figured this would be easier to handle.

Got the amp today, and it weighs a ton. The amps in great shape, and the footswitch is near mint. Even got the manual. However, they forgot the power cord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! called them right after, and now have to wait another couple of days for it to come. Man the amp better work.

Got the cord today, and everything works great. The stock speakers sound a little thin, so I might change them out. The footswitch is a little glitchy also, but it should be alright.

If you get volume cutting in and out, that will be the effects loop. Quite a common problem with these old beauties. Other than that, scratchy pots and the ohm selector are some of the other common problems.

Next boost I am going to try.

LED clipping with twice the gain of a TS. Not sure what means when the gain is 0 and the volume is cranked... The Bloody Murder used LEDs for clipping, this his a 3 way switch for different clipping settings.

I love V30s, so I might get some of the Hellatones from Avatar. Only 109 each. Or i'll go with the WGS Veterans.

I think I'm gonna get a Boss HM-3 to run in front of my little carpeted Randall head.

Got the little Scream pedal a few days ago. It's unreal. It's basically a TS circuit but it's flattened out and has no honk. The 3 modes is what makes is special. It has an asymmetrical LED clipping mode. So it clips like and SD-1 instead of TS but it uses LEDs instead of clipping diodes. It has more grit yet more clarity at the same time, and crazy output.

Whats up guys? Toneking has a demo of the new Randall red up. I'm thinking of getting one of them or the RGOD.

Looks like MXR already capitalized on the 5150 in a pedal.

ProTone stinks. I'd avoid their stuff.

I ended up buying one of these because the Randall took too long to be released.

That MXR 5150 costs way too much. Its damn $200 :-q Protone is taking too long to release their distortion pedals, so screw em. I was going to get a what you want 2, but they were sold out. I'll probably just end up with the Randall rred. It seems to sound good, and is cheap enough. How much was that Hades pedal? What amp are you playing your distortion pedals through now?

I picked up the Hades on sale for $169. They're more expensive now and have a wait time. I run it into the effects return of my Diavlo 1W head.

I also purchased a Marshall JVM 1 watt head. I'm in the process of getting it modded to sound like Dino's old Marshall. If the mods won't fit, I'll probably sell it. Not really solid state, but awesome anyway.

That's cool. I'm good with the XXL for now. I like a couple of the distortions for hard rock, 80's mid scooped stuff. I want to add the pedal for more modern sounds. I how ever really hate the stock speakers, they sound horrible. I'll probably do some V30s soon.
