New feature: 5000 posts per thread

Post by GuitarBilly »

When I started the forum, I had set a limit of 1500 posts per thread to keep the database from getting too heavy. With the latest server upgrade I am confident we can have bigger threads now so the limit is increased to 5000 posts/thread. Once you reach that limit I will lock the thread but you can create "Part II" (or III, IV etc, as many as needed).

Thanks guys!!

Billy

Have we actually ever had a thread with 1500 posts in it?!?

I guess the body building thread is getting close to that? :hmm:

Yep, the bodybuilding thread is getting close to that AGAIN (it's Pt. 2 already, Pt 1 reached 1500 posts and was locked months ago).

"Last movie you watched" thread is at 1400 something now.

"JCA lounge" getting up there....

So yeah there are a few.

Damn I thought ye olde fitness thread was gonna hit part III soon, can you just lock it so we can start again anyway?
Fresh starts are good.

EDIT

More on topic though thats pretty rad Billy, we appreciate the upkeep and attention to these things.
Honestly the thing thats the best about it to me is you've been doing exactly what you were telling the knuckle heads at HC they should be down.

I was thinking about merging the 2 bodybuilding threads and making into a mega-thread, what do you think?

And thanks :thu: every morning I think to myself "What Would Anderton Do?" Then I go ahead and do the square opposite.

I wouldn't be into a megathread personally TBH but I'm only one of the 20 or so that post in there. Either way it'd all be fine I'm sure.

And yeah thats a good way to go about it, I loved HC as a place for us but it was truly terribly managed. The members that came there through the reviews are really what made it what it was.

Exactly right. And the same can be said about this forum and every other forum ever. I just run the software here, the forum is great because we have great members.

Hot dam!!! Was just thinking about this the other day, and whether I should be encouraging ppl to post JCA amp mods in separate threads and let me link them back to the front page.

Thanks Bill!!!! Another cold one headed your way! :beersmiley: :D
